Thoughts on Estrace

Hello all, I haven't been on here in a very long time. Had a abdominal hysterectomy, all gone except cervix back in Dec. of 2003. No HRT due to endo. All these years I have had problems with dryness but lately its worse than ever. Went for regular check up two weeks ago and dr. said I was so dry I actually bleed just doing pap. Sex has been extremely painful and I want my intimate life back! I have an extremely understanding hubby! Was interested in bio identicals but my insurance does not cover and its estimated around $100 per month. Dr. gave me prescription for Estrace, low does 3 times a week. Now I'm nervous about taking it. Anybody out there using it? I really, really want me life back!

I just stated using it yesterday. At this point I will try anything! Last couple of weeks the dryness got so bad I ended up in the ER with an allergic reaction to over the counter anti-itch medicine, not fun! Hoping the Estrace will do the trick!

FYI...Estrace is bio identical.

WOW, I am having the same problem. I go in 2 weeks to discuss estrogen. I have had a lot of fears too about taking it. But I cannot stand the pain of the dryness anymore. Sex is not even on my list any more. I too want my life back. I Will talk to her about Estrace. it is Bio too! that is great news!!

I sure hope it helps you. My dryness is very bad the last 4 weeks too. Even got a very nasty UTI. I have to do something. Please keep us updated as I would love to see how long it takes to kick in. Right now I am using the Vit. E sup. It helps some, but I need more, I am becoming very irritable with it.
