TAH Hematoma 7 weeks Post Op - Anyone else

I'm 7 weeks post op. Still bleeding. Just had ultrasound. Hematoma smaller than at week three. Vaginal walls also swollen. Waiting for news from doc what to do or not to do? Anyone else out there. Thoughts/opinions/outcomes.

I am 10 weeks and have not had any complications that I know of, but I am going to the doc today because I'm not getting better and still in a lot of pain. I don't have advice pertaining to the hematoma specifically - but may be looking at having ultrasounds and other diagnostics done. Sorry you are having issues. It sucks that it can take so long to heal from this. Just wanted to let you know you aren't alone.

I had my surgery May 15. I have a 14cm hematoma in the fashia below my incision..I had a blood transfusion after they knew the bleeding had stopped. My dr had told me he could go in and drain it, but the chance of infection gets really increased if he went back in, so I chose the blood transfusion and monitoring of the hematoma. They will do an ultrasound when I go back in June. They did tell me that my healing would take longer. They did a complete hysterectomy and took both ovaries.

Readytorock, I'm sorry you are 10 weeks with pain still. That is a long time. I no longer have pain but I have tenderness in the lower abdominal area above incision. Also swollen belly. I call it my kangaroo pouch.

Where is your pain? Is it alot? I hope U figure it out too.

Well you are fresh out of surgery my dear. We have had the same surgery. I bled from day 1. I did not know about the hematoma until week 3 when I had severe bowel pain,vomitting, and extreme diarrhoea. I contracted a bowel infection. It was then I learned about the blood. 6 week post Op surgeon and family doc's said I was ok and healed but didn't do an internal. I didn't feel right and went back to clinic and doc checked me and did internal. It was just days before today I found the inside of the vagina was really swollen and still blood. So today was my ultrasound appt and they said still there. It is smaller as I said but I have no idea what size.

I just heard about draining today but I too would not want another surgery. I hope yours clears up soon and you have no futher problems. From my support group, greyish smelly discharge and fever are all signs of an infection so beware. I'm just not meeting many women with bleeding this far along.
