Finished treatment!!!

Finally, after two delays on account of a cold and low white blood cell counts, I finally received my last dose of carboplatin today, though at a 20% reduction. I'm so glad to be through treatments. It's been a long long six months. Counts still low but went ahead with treatment. Still need to go back for the next 5 days for neupogen injections so I don't become septic on account of my falling blood counts. Seems my bone marrow has really had enough of the platinum toxins, but at least held out long enough to finish up treatments. Yah! Get through the next week of residual side effects and gonna throw a big party, then spend some time traveling over the summer. Feel like I gotta cram In a lot of living over the next month or so. I should have a pet/ct sometime in July which will be the first scan since presurgical scans in novemeber. Worried what they might find. Hopefully my treatment was more aggressive then my cancer, but when a grade 3 hits the lymph nodes it always a dodgy situation. Got my fingers and toes crossed, sending positive vibes out into the universe and hope it returns the positive energy back. Hope and prayers to all those fighting this crap disease. Thanks for all your words and support.

Re: Finished treatment!!!

well done CCfighter, you got there in the end. We're all really proud of you. I had the shots too, but I brought them home with me and done them myself. It was a long drive to the hospital and i had had enough of that place. I also get my MRI in July and am already worrying about it.

I'm really pleased that your treatment is finished and you can ow have sometime to yourself.

Re: Finished treatment!!!

Thanks Ladies! It does feel so good to have all that behind me. I hope. All of you are doing well and feeling well and enjoying whatever weather you find yourself living in. It HOT over here in Northern Virginia. Been in the 90's for days. Did end up with an ice cold margarita on sunday. Perhaps that did bring my counts up?! Good enough for my last treatment and a little pretend summer vacation at the neighbors BBQ. Life is good.

We've even had several days sun here in England. Infact it's been very hot. What a difference the sun makes to how we all feel.
