Thought I was crazy!!

Greetings,
I posted in the Hormone Jungle and realized this was here too.
I had a LAVH-BSO on May 23,2001. Didn't know it before surgery but gol ball size fibroid was found. I'm 35. I was placed on Cenestin immediately after surgery while recovering. I started having side effects from the Cenestin 4 days after surgery. On the package insert it says may have intolerence to wearing contact lenses. I am a contact lense wearer and when I tried putting them in after surgery I could hardly stand the way they felt. I was accustomed to falling asleep with my lenses in and go no longer do this. I mentioned this to my ob who told me I should stop sleeping under a fan. Well, the fan was not drying out my eyes before. This was just the beginning of the lame excuse I started to get from this ob.
About 2 months ago, the being 6 months post op. I began to suffer terribly from hot flashes. I had relocated and was carrying on a long distance relationship with my ob. He suggested reducing my .0625 dosage to half. Then I told him I was sweating too much at night and couldn't sleep. Then he said increase to 1 pill in am then 1 in pm. This stopped the hot flashes but I know had insomnia. I then got that rare itchy, crawling skin (formication) and had gained 10lbs. I was depressed, crying and suffering from anxiety none of which I had previously, not even during PMS.
When I mentioned these symptoms to the ob he told me I need to see a neurologist and a dermatologist. Imaginw that! Why did a ob/gyn did not recognize that I was going through surgical menopause is beyond me.
Finally I sought help through the internet. I was sure that somewhere someone could have known about these symptoms. I tried the cenestin website but already knew what I would find there and I type in my search engine my symptoms and lo and behold hystersisters.com appeared. I couldn't believe that everything I was suffering from was addressed on this website. Most of the terminology and information that I received in order to better myself came from the website. I sat in front of my computer and cried. Tears of sadness to know so many women are suffering and tears of joy someone was like me and I wasn't crazy! These guys even had a good NHRT doctor in the area posted on this site which was very helpful. Needless to say, I am his patient now.
Many wonderful thanks to the staff and creator(s) of this website!
Bless you and keep up the good work!
Gina
