New here waiting for results

Hi everyone! Like I said . I'm 28 years old and have had period issues all my life but nothing too out of the norm. I am very blessed and have been able to give birth to 3 beautiful kids but started having some problems after giving birth to my daughter. She was born in February 2011and my cycle returned in November of 2011. It was very different from any cycles I had before but my doctor assured me that it should stablize after my first cycle and not be so heavy. Well that never happened it was so bad I couldn't leave my house, I'd go through multiple pads and tampons and absolutely drench my clothing. So they started me on birth control in hopes that would help. My first month still had a crazy heavy cycle but that was it no other issues. The second month though the bleeding just never stopped it would slow at times but never go away completely. This cycle continued and they switched me to another form of birth control as well as a 10 day script for premarin. Again it didn't help. Long story short I have been bleeding fairly continously for about 3 months + sometimes its very heavy other times it will show up out of nowhere then leave just as fast as it arrived.

The doctor was fairly backed up with ultrasound appointments so I finally got in to be seen yesterday. Plan was to have a saline sonohysterogram to see what was going on in there and if I had polyps etc. Before we even got to the saline sonohysterogram I could tell something was off as the inital vaginal ultrasound took longer than the tech stated it would and she was printing off many pictures. Next thing I knew I was signing for a biopsy in addition to the sonohysterogram.

So now I'm on yet another birth control till we get the results of what's going on. He said at my age its very rare but my thickness of the lining concerns him considering I've been bleeding for so long now and passing tissue the entire time as well as the fact that I do have some things that would put me at a higher risk. We talked though and it came down to if the results were cancerous a hysterectomy would be done if not cancerous I will be having an abaltion. At first I was pretty upset about it as I wasn't expecting to hear anything along those lines but the more of read in the forums and other online sources I feel at ease knowing I'm gonna be okay either way.

I'm hoping I get the results quickly though but he never really said how long it takes to get that information.

Re: New here waiting for results

I'm sorry to hear that you're having problems that have caused you to join us, but you're very welcome.

I think the waiting part is the worse part and I think all the ladies here would agree. I'm glad that they did the biopsy there and then, and you did not have to go back for another appointment.

What did your dr say he saw on the scan, what it just that the lining was thick or were there any polyps etc?

Please feel free to ask anything.

Nope no polyps or cysts just extremely thick lining of the uterus.

I am sorry you have these possible cancer worries and at such a young age. If cancer remains suspect please consider consulting with a gyn/oncologist as they are the experts. It is good your doctor wants a biopsy before considering an ablation as some of the women who have had ablations and later learned they had cancer found that the ablation procedure very likely served to spead the cancer.

The waiting is the very pits as once you know what you are dealing with plans can be made for an ablation if cancer no longer suspect or if needed surgery, etc. and then you feel you are doing something to help your situation. Pls do not hesitate to ask any questions, etc.; the women here are great in sharing their experiences and giving support as they can. Do keep us posted and good luck with the biopsy. Others who have had a biopsy can provide more info re this if you want - simply ask away.

Re: New here waiting for results

Thanks so much! Has anyone had a recurring rash before diagnosis? I was wondering of it was maybe related as its all started at the same time I usually get a rash on my belly and thigh around the time I should get a normal period whether I actually get it or not.

Re: New here waiting for results

So sorry you are going thru this right now. It is a hard road to travel. Waiting for pathology reports is the hardest part. It can take 10-14 days for a full report but you want them to be thorough and give you a full report so you have as much info as possible. No, I never had a rash before my cycle but that is something you should tell your doctor about on your next visit if you haven't already. Hang in there and keep us all posted.

Re: New here waiting for results

Thanks no news yet I'm not expecting anything till at least at the earliest Wednesday but I know even that is a slim chance of happening. I mentioned the rashes and other symptoms etc. but like a lot of other peoples situations I've read about my doctor is focusing on the age thing and its just not normal to have such a diagnosis at this age or blah blah blah. So right now I'm trying to think what the next steps will be if the results are negative cause there obviously is SOMETHING wrong with me. I don't care how old or young you are what I'm going through and been through isn't right.

It's all frustrating and I know you guys can relate with what I'm going through. I had been doing really well but last night all the emotions bursted through and they've been escaping ever since. I've been a blubbering mess for about 24 hours now and I hate it I never know what will set me off it seems.
