May 29 post

I had the daVinci on May 29 for adenomyosis. After surgery I asked Larry how it went, and he just said for me to wait for the doctor and, "Let's just say you are going to feel markedly better." Turns out I also had severe endometriosis. My uterus, colon and right ovary were almost glued together. My gyno told Larry it was "quite a mess in there." He said there was no clear path to free everything, so they had to proceed carefully. Eventually they got all the endo and did the total hyst as planned, plus the right ovary and tube. The left looked fine so he left it as is.

I've been making sure to take the Gas-X, as that really does help. I, of course, walked too much the first few days after getting home, so I paid for it yesterday. Totally worn out. I'm a little better today, but still sooooo tired.

When is the fatigue going to lessen? I'm not very good at taking care of myself.

Re: May 29 post

You are very, very early in your recovery. The fatigue can hang on for a few months for some ladies. The best thing to do is to listen to your body as your body knows what it needs to heal. Also, please be aware that it takes 6 months to a year to be completely healed internally so you have a ways to go yet. I hope this helps.

Re: May 29 post

Thanks. It does help to hear that. I'll do exactly what I am supposed to. I have lots of support at home, but I'm trying to reign in my SuperMom self. I think I'm starting to do better with that.

Hang up the cape for a while. Let your family take care of you for a while. You will recover faster if you let yourself!
Rest and Heal

Re: May 29 post

I had mine on May 15th and the fatigue has been better the last couple of days. The first week I took lots of naps then last week I slowly got down to one nap a day but I haven't even taken a nap the last 3 days. I am still taking it really easy but I go back to Dr. tomorrow and he is probably going to clear me to go back to work.
