TVH New dark red bleeding 10 days Post Op

My hysterectomy, rectocele, hydrodistension and bladder sling surgery was May 25. Everything went well other than a new diagnosis of Interstitial Cystitis which I am now researching. I had very little discharge and pain the first week home. Only
very pinkage discharge.

It is now 10 days and I have started bleeding dark red and my pain in my belly is quite sore when I stand or move a certain way. Is this normal? I know I am just starting the recovery process but seeing blood after nothing for a week kinda freaked me out a bit. My post op appointment isn't till this Tuesday June 5th. Do I need to worry about this or just wait till I go to my appointment?

Hi, it could mean that you are doing too much ? If you have a strange odour down below and any signs of fever then u need to get checked out for infection x x hope u are ok x

It might be a good idea to call the doctor tomorrow. You might be able to be examined a day early. New pain should always be brought to the attention of the doctor. I hope you feel better soon.

I am having the same problem except no new pain. I had no bleeding from the time I got home from the hospital I will be 3 weeks from surgery tomorrow. I woke up Saturday morning to a little spotting so I took it really easy Saturday then I woke up at 3:00 this morning and I had some bright red bledding I was very scared and almost called Dr. but got on here and read it is not uncommon. The bleeding did not last long but I have had pink spotting all day today. I go for a post op appointment tomorrow and I am anxious to hear what Dr. says.

I am 10 days post op davinci total hysterectomy and had bright red bleeding today. The only thing I have been doing is some walking off an on. No lifting, no chores, no nothing. I to am more sore today. Yesterday we did go to a wedding. The drive each way was an hour and we stayed for an hour. Then left when I started hurting.

It's very easy to overdo it this early post-surgery. If the bright red bleeding persists, then by all means call the doctor! Don't wait.

Thanks for the replies. I'm still bleeding today. I'm only needing one pad every couple hours or so but still bright red. When I wipe I see the most blood. Also I have a lower back pain that shoots down my right leg. I've had this since surgery. Anyone else experience back pain? My surgery was 3 1/2 hours so I am assuming the position I was in caused that.

I just wanted to give everyone an update. Now mine was only spotting, I didn't even need a pad anyone with bleeding should definently check with the Dr. better safe and sorry. Anyway, I went to my post op check up today. Dr. said my spotting was completly normal, he said the vaginal cuff is the hardest part to heal and that is were my spotting was coming from. He used silver nitrate to stop the bleeding. He said we might have to do it again before it heals completly but I should have no more spotting for at least a couple of weeks. He said as long as it was just spotting I did not need to worry.

I have my post op appointment at 3:00 today and really nervous. My bleeding seems worse. I see blood in the toilet after I go. Anyone know what this could mean? Praying it's. Nothing serious.

I had a resurgence of leg nerve problem after surgery - I do think it was the psitioning during the procedure and its getting better.
