Protect those bones...ospenia what a shocker!

For most of my adult life, I have been in excellent shape...flash forward six years after surgery....I was told my lower back aches were due to ospenia.

My warning to other women.
1. Get salt out your diet now...
2. Get soda out your diet now.
3. Incorporate weight lifting in your workouts...work with bands if you have to.
4. Start cutting back on your calories now.

I put on 36 pounds last year for the first time I'm my life...
Cause: menopause.

My response........get moving ladies!

Re: Protect those bones...ospenia what a shocker!

I also found out I have osteopenia - lost 12% of BMD in my spine in last 6 years while going through menopause.
The really shocking part is that I already do all the right things! I am going to up the weights and add more calcium to my diet as that is about all I can do.

Re: Protect those bones...ospenia what a shocker!

I was diagnosed with Osteopenia a year after my tah/bso. I am awaiting my latest bone scan results to see if anything has changed.
