Sex

I haven't been interested in sex that much since my hysterectomy last year. This morning my husband tried getting intimate with me again and wanted to have oral sex and I pushed him away and he got upset with me because the last time I pushed him away like that he had just found out that I was having an affair (that was 6 years ago). I am just not that interested in sex anymore. I had my ovaries and uterus removed and it still hurts occasionally and oral sex makes me uncomfortable. How can I make him understand this. I have been on HRT for almost a year as well.

Re: Sex

Have you spoken to your doctor about sex still being painful? Have you explored other options or had your doctor check to be sure your HRT is the right dosage for your needs? I feel for both of you because it is hard to be interested in sex when it is painful but it is also a vital part of a marriage for both partners.

Perhaps an calm, honest talk with your husband about how you feel/see yourself differently since your hysterectomy would help. Perhaps the two of you can work through this together without bringing up the pain of past hurts.
