Hemorrhagic complex ovarian cyst, getting bigger.

Hi Everyone!
I'm new..my name is Kim and I'm a plus sizer, 53 years old. A "little" on the situation: left ovary has been undergoing sono's every 6 months, as it's as stated above. It was steadily 2.4 cms now it's 3.6 and more structured, internally. My gyn has made me an appt with a gynecologic oncologist for the lovely, and oh-so-reassuring "second opinion" about treatment. This appt is for the 1st week in July.
My gyn says, "oh, don't worry...no ascites, not in the other ovary...no big deal."
She does not disagree, theoretically, that I am a candidate for a hysterectomy (mom had uterine cancer, maternal grandmother died from ovarian/cervical cancer). She has me on provera, 10mgs, monthly for 10 days as my endometrium is highly estrogenic and last endometrial biopsy prior to provera was abnormal.

Ok..so any thoughts on this? I had my darned gallbladder out 10 years ago (laproscopically) and I suffered like hell. No kidding. I'm wondering how this Da Vinci thing is? My weight is mostly in my stomach, so I'm really wondering how much fun recovery will be.

Thanks for listening. I'm happy to have found you!
Peace,
Kim

Re: Hemorrhagic complex ovarian cyst, getting bigger.

Hi Hon,
I am also a plus sized lady. I had my gallbladder out 5 yrs ago and it took 6months before I felt ok. I had a da vichi hyster 19 months ago and again it took a while before I felt better. The weight shouldn't be an issue. Recovery is different for each of us. My recovery wasn't to bad. I just had aches and twinges for awhile. Hope this helps. Good luck with whatever you choose.
