Exactly 2 weeks post op

I have been roaming the site for 6 weeks now and decided to join in and find out if I'm a wimp or normal. In the hospital I was doing great; even after giving up my little button of heaven! Then I got home and although I was taking the stool softeners, by day 4 I was in trouble. I struggled until day 5 before finally having a bm thanks to Glycerin suppositories and 2 hours of pushing. After that I was in complete agony. I had my stitches removed on day 7 and the Dr told me I had pulled some muscles while straining, so it would stand to reason I was hurting as much as I was. Somehow just knowing I hadn't ripped anything inside made it not hurt as much.
This past weekend I was feeling better so I walked around quite a bit and spent quite a bit of time in the kitchen, then went to church and out to lunch on Sunday. Now....I am toast! My swelly belly is back, the pain is back and I'm frustrated being back to where I was at day 6. Lesson learned, but now that my family has tasted some normal, nobody is jumping to make dinner or help much. Very frustrating.
I guess I'm mainly posting this so nobody makes these same mistakes. Please believe that you really CAN very easily over do things while not realizing you are over doing!
That being said...when am I going to feel better????

Re: Exactly 2 weeks post op

So sorry you had a set back. My advice for your family is that you put back on pajamas and rest! When they get hungry and ask what's for dinner tell them what you'd like them to make. They will get the hint! lol Seriously though, even after several weeks of me being back in the kitchen I still had days I didn't feel well enough to fix dinner. I'd get something easy out and when DH got home from work I'd tell him I didn't feel well today and he was in charge of dinner. He never seemed to mind. We do however eat better when I cook, but he doesn't mind fixing something when I don't feel well.I hope your feeling better agaij soon!
