Problem with Penetration Since Full Hysterectomy

Hi I am Dominique,

I had my Full Hysterectomy in 2000 so this problem that I am having happened over a period of years. Everytime my husband and I, try to have intercourse we cannot get but 1/3 to 1/2 way in before I am almost screamming. It's like trying to squeeze through a wall that has a small whole.

I stumbled over this fabulous website while searching google. Thank god I found you all. Please help me with this if there is anyone out there like me.

I am sorry to hear this issue has developed over the years sinc yoir hysterectomy.

I don't know if you have ever researched or heard of a condition called vaginismus. The part of your description where you mentioned things being tight and feeling like there is a wall made me think of that condition. It is caused by involuntary muscle contractions. You can search for other threads on it by using the Search menu (purple bar above) and typing in vaginismus.

Also check out some of the videos in the Video menu (upper right below the tabs).

Talk to your Dr about that and also about vaginal atrophy (although that is usually described as a sandpaper / burning feeling).

I havent been able to have sex since my hysterectomy in 2005. I use lubrication,but it has always hurt so much,I stopped trying after 6 months.After that my hubby was put on a medication for his bipolar that took his libito away entirely so,we just gave up.I get so lonely sometimes I wanna cry,but theres not much we can do about it.
