Grief for me and my sister.....

I am 25 and my sister is 29. I had my hyster at the delicate age of 23. Found out today my sister is having hers in 5 weeks. Seems like life is a cruel joke right now. We both had rough childhoods and now we have to go through this. I just moved 1000 miles away and wont even be there. I know how hard it is going to be for here emotionally. All I can do right now is cry. We are both so young and losing so very much. I am still dealing with feeling broken and like less of a woman. I wont even leave my husband beacuse I am scared no other man will want a broken person. Cant even call myself a woman anymore. And now my sister has to go through it too. I am grieving her loss as well. She looses the apin but she fought so long and so hard against this. Just seems like such a waste that we are loosing our choices and our options at such a young age. Sorry girls just had to vent.

I am so sorry that both you and your sister have to experience hysterectomies at such young ages. Make sure she signs up here so so can get support from her HysterSisters since you aren't there for her.

Sweetheart now to you and your pain. You are not less of a woman! You may feel that way but it isn't true. Based on my own experiences it very much sounds like major depression. Talk to your Dr and get yourself to a counsellor who can help you work through all these feelings.

You have are an empathetic woman with a loving heart as shown by your concern for your sister.

Sending :hearthugs:

Re: Grief for me and my sister.....

Hi azfrogqueen,

I too am so very sorry to hear that you had to endure a hysterectomy at such a young age and that your sister is facing the same thing. I totally agree with tauruslady...please talk to your doctor and perhaps a counselor about how you're feeling. I struggled for years with infertility and totally understand the feelings of being "less of a woman". This is something that I was able to work through with time and support and I know that my uterus does not define my womanness (I know that's not a real word, but seems to fit for the moment ) You deserve to feel like you are important and live your life as the wonderful woman you are!!

You sound sooooo compassionate with a very caring heart, and I'm sure that you will find a way to be there for your sister, even if you are not able to be there in person.

Please don't ever apologize for "venting" on this site. We are here to help you on your bad days and cheer for you on your good days.
