18 days post op and hard spot on left side - abdominal pain still

anyone else expierence this? 18 days post op and about 2 days ago< i starated to feel that my left side feels like there is something quite solid inside. I am overweight, so I definately have e belly that I would think would be soft to the touch. My belly is still very tender and sore to touch, but when i do touch the left side, it feels like there is something quite solid deeper inside. I don't know if this is starting to scar up and I am feeling the beginnings of scar tissue, or... just what. When I stand from sittting or lying down, I have to hold my belly, as it feels like a pulling or heavyness, quite sore... I am hoping this will change a a bit soon. I am no longer on narcotics of any kind. 2 extra strength tylenol and 2 ibuprofin every 4 - 6 hours.

Mostly I still want to be lying down, least amount of discomfort/pain. I do get up and walk around the house, or head outside for a little neighbourhood walks. I also sit in a cumfy chair and watch movies, but coxic bone hurts from too much sitting likely. I had to sleep sitting up for first 2 weeks, now I am sleeping lying down and that feels darn good. Not great on the side yet.
Thanks all for this great forum

Re: 18 days post op and hard spot on left side - abdominal pain still

About this time I felt a big hard spot by my 2 inch lower abdominal incision. I went to the dr and it was a hematoma. My dr did nothing and said it will go down by itself but could take months. I would check with your dr to make sure.
