vaginal cuff opened

I am 9 weeks post op davinci surgery. I started having a burning, stinging, RAW feeling in my vagina 2 days after having sex (which we had to quit due to it hurt). I saw my surgeon last Thursday and and he said my vaginal cuff has separated. I was like how did that happen? He said sex. Oh I am so disappointed!!!!!!! Words can't express the disappointment or the pain!!!! So now I have to use Premarin creme three nights a week no sex for 6 more weeks!!!! Sorry ladies, but **** I can't catch a break. I am wondering if anyone has gone thru this and how did it go and what did you do??? HELP!!!! WHAT happens now? Will I ever get over this? Will I ever get to have sex again without hurting myself or damaging things??? OMG!!!!

Re: vaginal cuff opened

Oh my we are the same week and that is really scary. I think this time I'd wait longer than the six weeks if that happened to me. Dud they give you something for the pain? I didn't even do it when the dr cleared me at 6. I waited until my finger could go in without feeling soreness. I hope things get better for you and make sure you take it easy

Re: vaginal cuff opened

If you do a search on the site for torn vaginal cuff you will read many stories of this happening to other ladies. Most have to have emergency surgery to repair it. You're fortunate that it sounds like yours may heal on its own. I'm sorry this has happened to you.

Re: vaginal cuff opened

I'm so sorry this happened to you. I had daVinci and at my 6 week checkup my doc did an internal. She told me my vaginal cuff wasn't nearly healed yet and restricted me another 2 weeks. I waited to have intercourse until 10 weeks. It's a tiny bit uncomfortable, and we go slow without full penetration. I am sure it will get better. I have read a lot of things about the DaVinci cuff taking longer to heal than the other surgery types.Again, so sorry you had to go through this.
