TAH- Sensitivity in pubic area

Good evening, friends.
I have heard about many women having numbness around their incision.. but I have the opposite. From nearly my belly button to mid pubic area I am uber sensitive. Like a bad sunburn or like I have razor burn.
Has anyone else feel that way? I occasionally get "raw" pains, like something is cutting into me, but there isn't anything.. and shaving is very uncomfortable.
normal?

Re: TAH- Sensitivity in pubic area

- I mean... good for you.
That's what I keep hearing, but mine is so raw feeling. I am very aware that there is nothing I can "do" about it. Just wondered if anyone else feels the same.
thanks.

And do be careful going back to cleaning... I am worried it is very much too soon. I don't know how you can do that. At two weeks I was still very sore.

TAH- Sensitivity in pubic area

I'm experiencing the same. 2 wks. post -op TAH. Just started a few days ago. Burning sensation, feels like a "pulling"pain & extremely sensitive. I'm sitting here in the waiting room at my Dr.'s office now (she's running way behind) for 2wk. appt. & I plan to ask her about it. I'll let you know what she says.

Re: TAH- Sensitivity in pubic area

I'd give your doctor a call and describe your symptoms. I never had the razor burn feeling in my pubic area, but had inside pain in that area. It ended up being and untreated UTI. I ignored my symptoms snd it turned into a kidney infection by the time I got it checked out.

Re: TAH- Sensitivity in pubic area

Yes, feeling the same. Yesterday, after bouncing around in the car, it felt like my incision, abdomen, was on fire.

I also have the bladder discomfort toward the end of emptying. Then again, my bladder was torn open and repaired by a urologist, during the hysterectomy.

My Dr. said some of sensitivity, burning was normal. My pain in that area & on my right side beside my incision are muscle spasms. She exlpained that the muscles were pulled to the side to get the organs out & they are reacting to all of that. Some of my pain is also coming from an overactive bladder (another gift) from the surgery. Just started meds. for both. Hope this helps, but you may still want to call your Dr.

I can't tell you if it is normal because I thought mine was based on other ssters complaints, then later learned it wasn't. Don't want to confuse you, but here is sort of how mine went......
It was internal , kind of felt like the area that was a few inches inside my pubic hair area. Mostly hurt when I wrnt to the bathroom, but hurt also a bit sitting and sometimes walking.I still had the pain after the UTI and Kidney infection were cleared up . It especially felt uncomfortable after emptying my bladder and having BM's. I went to the doctor for the kidney infection recheck and she examined me internally and told me the pain at that time was from my vaginal cuff not being all the way healed yet and that urinating and having BM's pushed on the healing cuff and caused pain. That was at 6 weeks post op.The kidney infection was around 4 weeks post op. I knew it was my kidney because I had horrible back pain on the sides and have had kidney infections in the past. The ER doctor told me I probably had a UTI from the catheter and ignored my symptoms. I think I had the UTI from the beginning.I only had a real low grade fever ( 99 or below) so ignored that. ER Doc said I was taking all the ibuprofen and tylenol for post op pain and it masked the fever. I also ignored frequent urination, blamed it on the fact I had been drinking a lot of water during recovery as well as other hystersisters always talking about our bladders needing time to settle down.I was in pain post op for weeks, so just thought all my aches and pains were normal. I called my doc about it about 3 weeks ( before being diagnosed with the kidney infection) and she acted like I was just drug seeking. I described my pains and she blew me off saying I shouldn't be in pain this bad. ( duh, that's why I'm calling for help). Anyways it was a week later I went to the Emergency Room because it got so much worse, and I knew my doc didn't care. My back hurt so bad I knew it wasn't normal post op aches and pains anymore.
