Adrenals/Thyroid/Sex Hormones - have to fix in order....

I was always told to balance Adrenals first, then Thyroid, and lastly Sex Hormones. I never thought I had an adrenal problem and was fighting with balancing my thyroid and estrogen.

Finally I saw an endocrinologist (3rd one) who tested the right hormones/levels and diagnosed me with adrenal insufficiency. I can honestly say my life has improved so much since I was put on Cortisol, and now my thyroid symptoms have improved as well as estrogen fluctuations.

I just wanted to mention this in case there are others out there who are really frustrated with thyroid levels not staying balanced, very low TSH (ended up being pituitary problem), low baseline ACTH (adrenal insufficiency), low sex hormones (prior to BSO), and exercise intolerance (extreme fatigue after little exertion).

Please, if you are experiencing these symptoms, find a dr who will listen and at least test for adrenal problems and treat if needed. Cheers! Hope you all have a great week ahead!

Calypso,
Glad you are finding some answers. I had adrenal issues early on post tah/bso.

Calypso' glad to hear you are feeling better. What type of cortisol are you on? I have been using Cortef. What dose are you presently using? All the best.

U can also treat with T3 instead of HC. None of those nasty side effects n hard time weaning.

You can only treat low adrenals with T3 if it's not a pituitary issue. If it's a pituitary deficiency causing the low adrenals, you have to stay on HC for life.

The circadian T3 treatment helps heal adrenals but is for those with low thyroid too.
