Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Jun 25-Jul 01,2012
Did my first long trip post op today. Wasn't sure how I would go. Had a really good trip though. Napped for part of it, though I always nap for a bit when we travel. Still struggling with a bit of tiredness but overall am satisfied with how I am going.
I went to my doctor for a follow up on Thursday and she is very happy with me. We are both of the opinion that I should be able to return to work sooner rather than later. I would have preferred longer at home but I am running out of leave and will have nothing to live on but savings after the end of next week.

A 11 Days post op from TVH I am experiencing the same thing. I'm slowing down and hoping that extra rest will help. It's worse after the bathroom. :-( Hope u feel better!

I have not had bleeding but the last two days by evening, if I am too active, I get pains in my side; I kept my ovaries and sometimes the sides vary as to which one. It is a little like a side stitch. Good luck!

We went to Red Lobster because my dad, who is here with my mom taking care of me, loves it there and it was a belated Father's Day dinner. They are leaving to return home on Monday (4 hrs away by car) and are nervous to leave me (me, too), so I thought going out would help them see I am progressing in my recovery. I think it helped. I'm okay now, and it was a nice time. Anybody else struggling with food and what to eat just now?

Pam, food is one of my issues. I had Chinese the other night, got backed up with gas so bad I thought I would explode in pain. Friday night we went out and I had Mexican but avoided my usual peppers and salsas-- still had an incident. Last night, carry out at home, pizza with mushrooms no meat, salad and glass of wine; so far so good. I did start taking Colace every morning to assure easier bm. I have also taken GasX but didn't seem to do much. It is a guessing game as to what triggers. But for me, it is the gas not the trots!

Hi Cindy, thank God for your good news.
I still have pain when I urinate. At times, it hurts even after. Mine is right above, top of pubic area. They are testing me for a uti infection. Take care!

Thank you GDlovelife,
That is where I hurt too, when I urinate or have a bm..
I'm going to Church this morning, I owe the LORD so much..
I will remember you all in prayer, I never realized so many of us are in the same boat.. It's reassurance to know there are other "sisters" out there to help out with the healing process..

Blessings to you, Cindy! Thank you, too. We are both going through the same. One of the sisters recommended leaning a little forward while urinating; it helped me a little. And, when over, trying putting something warm over, even laying hands over to ease the ache. Hugs

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Jun 25-Jul 01,2012
Today is a setback. I woke at three to some heavy bleeding and clotting. Am in the ER awaiting consult from GYN. Probably looking at needing something cauterized in my vaginal area. I'm kinda scared. This is just days after the blood clot in my lung. Probably Coumadin related. Sigh. I'm writing here to keep my mind off things as waiting in the ER can be interminable.
