4 months post-op hair loss and aching joints

Hello. I had a hyst in February, kept my ovaries, and am having some of the symptoms on the 'what to watch for' list. My hair is falling out in large handfuls every day. I am used to shedding, but this is excessive. Also, my joints are very stiff quickly. If I sit for more than an hour, it is hard to get up. I feel like these things re related but my doc thinks because I kept my ovaries, I shouldn't have any hormonal imbalance issues. I am just wondering what others think and if this has happened to you as well?

I get that my hormonal issues wouldn't be as severe because I kept my ovaries, but its not unusual to experience some changes right?

I would give your doctor a call. Could be thyroid related also.

The same thing was happened to me with the achy joints and hair falling out ... and it ended up that I had very very low vitamin D once I was on a prescription vitamin D for three months and now I just take vitamin D over the counter all those symptoms ended. I also agree it could be a thyroid problem too and get the same thing with that and very tired all the time and gain weight easily. Have your doct. check both your vitamin D and thyroid levels.
Good luck

Re: 4 months post-op hair loss and aching joints

I had severely low vitamin D also - which gave me terribly pain in my joints. My thyroid had been a mess for a few years and caused weight gain, hair loss, and the loss of most of my eyelashes.

It took a LOT of vitamin D to improve things and the thyroid issues also took much longer than I thought.

I'm completely with Cleo619. Don't assume anything. Go to a dr you trust and get some answers.

Good luck to you!
