Disappointef and frustrated

Hello everyone,
I was diagnosed with Menometrorrhagia and the procedures will be Salpingoopher, Explorlapgyn under anesthesia...what bothers me is I will be cut north to south not east to west I was sceduled for my pre-op today and everything was going well UNTIL several things didnt go my way. First thing was my BP was 167/98! I know it was my nerves because I am currently on meds to lower it. Then the dr suggested to me again to loose weight. I have no problem with that because I need to not just for a good surgery but my healing process. I did do my blood work for my anemia. I also need to have a biopsy done this thursday because the dr. couldnt do it today..here comes the disappointment...I have to wait for the anestesialogist to set an appointment to evaluate me to see if I am ready for surgery...which will take 30-90 days!!! I have no insurance and the amount I get for j doesnt qualify me...I have to do an ability to pay (another disappointment I was ayble to set up financial so that is taken care of.
I didnt recieve any other pre-op instructions except for wait for the call. I do know from the forms received that I will be in the hospital for approx 3 days.

I am so anxious and have so much going on I want this over!

Thanks fo letting me vent.

Prayers and Blessing to you all!

Re: Disappointef and frustrated

You came to the right place to vent, no worries there. I'm sorry your having such a tough time getting your surgery scheduled.Waiting is always so difficult. Spend the extra time researching ad finding things you need to ask your doctor.Losing weight is good, but you need to est healthy to be healthy for surgery and recovery, so please don't starve yourself or do a crash diet.I hope things start to go better for you!

(((Hugs)))

So sorry you are so frustrated. I agree with Cathy. Use the time to do your research, to start healthy diet, and if possible, start an exercise routine. The exercise routine will help you with recovery.

I've had 2 abdominal surgeries...myomectomy with a north to south incision, and my hysterectomy with the east to west incision. Also, I wasn't exercising prior to my myomectomy, BUT for my hysterectomy I was exercising prior to surgery. I noticed a big difference in my recovery. Seemed to bounce back better. I had been doing P90X and they do a lot of core work so my back & ab muscles were in pretty decent shape, strength wise.

If you are able, do some ab exercises and upper body resistance training while you are waiting. I was surprised how much I needed to use my upper body to maneuver myself in recovery.

Your routine doesn't have to be strenuous, just enough to build a bit of stamina. Walking with strength training. As always, make sure you clear it with your doctor.

Re: Disappointef and frustrated

Hello cathyb911 and elizabeth ann,
I thank you both for making me realize that your both right. This will give me the time to research and loose the weight for my bp and build my iron up. I think I was just having a moment This extra time will let me also finish getting my home in order.
If it werent for this site I wouldnt know that there are so many others going through the same things as myself plus getting all the information that is posted here is insightful.

I thank you again and pray everything is well with you!

Re: Disappointef and frustrated

Better safe then sorry. As hard as it is to wait you'll be better off. I am sorry for your delay as I know how stressful waiting is. It is very hard. Stay busy preparing for surgery and it will go faster.
