I need three surgeons

I had my endo lasered in April of 2000. I had many problems with my health after that surgery that I had to keep putting off the recommended hyst. I have been doing much better the past several monts, except for the endo and a few other problems and I'm ready of surgery. I will be having a total hyst with BSO, and also a bowel resection for a mass of endo on my colon. I have intersitual cystitis so my urologist will also extended my bladder and remove endo on my bladder if it is found there too. So I have three surgeons going into this surgery. I fully trust all of them, and did a lot of research to find the best possible. I finally came to acceptance of having a hyst. I am 45 years old and have three children so I am very grateful for those blessings. I am nervous about having some of my colon removed, but trusting God to take care of me, and looking forward to not passing out on the toliet because of colon pain that is so severe it is horrifying. The endo pain is no picnic either, as I'm sure that many of you can attest too. I wish I had a date for my surgery, and almost did, when I recently came down with a bout of ulcerative colitis. On Feb 5th I will have a colonoscopy at the hospital to see if it has cleared up. If it has then I will finally get my surgery date for hyst. If not then I have to wait for it to clear, which is reasonable. I'm just so tired of all this pain. I needed to vent. Counting my blessings does help, and listening to my hyster sisters does too!

Welcome

Jerianne sounds like you have had a rough time just getting to the point of being ready for your TAH/BSO. It also souds like you are dealing with it all very well. I am 4 weeks post from the same and life post op is wonderful and virtually pain free. As for the bowel resection, the only support I can give there is that I know of others who have had it done and they came thru just fine! Stop in chat if you have not ventured there yet, if u have come back often. The ladies there are a wonderful resource of info as well as a wondeful support system. O'h yeah we have a laugh or two so if you come post op bring your tummy pillow

Hi jerianne

Sweety I hope you will get to have your surgery. My prayers will be going up for you God Bless you and comfort you. My DH had ulcerative colitis when he was 23. They blew out the major part of his colon and he had to have surgery and a ilumstomy (I know that is not the way you spell it) that was 30 years ago. He has had to have numerous surgeries and now 30 years later he is doing fine. Your's sounds like a mild case. He found out about his and had to have the surgery all within 2 weeks. Sometimes stress can cause that to happen. I do wish the best for you and hope that you will get to have the surgery you need to get that stress away. Now relaxe and read and know that we are here just waiting to you on. Let us know please when you get a chance.
