My OB just called and told me that my estrogen is practically nonexistent -- my HRT obviously isn't doing the job! I've been on FemHRT for about 5 months. I don't feel bad, other than maybe lack of libido. Are there any symptoms that I should be noticing?
Ovaries only removed in 2001 -- one totally involved with a tumor of low malignant potential.
Hi Annie, here is a link that tells the symptoms of too little estrogen http://www.hormonejungle.com/toomuch.php Are you experiencing any of these? Have you talked over what, if any changes you might make in your HRT? Good luck.
I have quite a few of the symptoms listed. None are to an extreme degree, but they are enough to be bothersome. Dry skin - definitely, shortness of breath (I feel like I have to yawn all the time), memory loss (I have a 22-month-old and a 3-year-old -- I thought THEY caused my dingyness). Occasional heart palpitations started almost immediately after surgery, but are even less frequent now. And just before this Christmas I had only the second yeast infection I've ever had in my life (which subsequently caused a bladder infection on Christmas Eve!)
My OB is starting me on Provera and Menes today, so we'll see if the symptoms clear up a little. I really didn't think I felt bad, but I guess it happens so slowly that you really don't notice things going downhill!
