I am 3 weeks and 2 days post op. Has anyone passed any stitches yet? Last night I felt a sharp pin like feeling inside, not necessarily painful but diffidently got my attention.

This morning I passed a spider looking like stitch, no blood, anyone else have this experience?

I had my surgery July 6, 2012. Went very well. Got home fine no problems then a wk after surgery I spike up to 102 temp..put on meds for that then about a wk ago I had this hard tender knot near my bladder on the right side of my tummy. Pain meds did not help. I called Hubby at work in tears. Finally called my doctor. Said it was all normal to ice it for abit. It helped yes but after awhile it would hurt to put ice or anything cold on my stomach. I went for my check-up today. He checked the lump and found out its a pocket of infection at the end of the vaginal canal. One more week of double antibotics and if that don't work, he's going to drain it...then in 2 wks he's going to scope my bladder again and put meds into it because my bladder is apparently easily irritated by everything. Other than that I feel good. I'm allowed to drive and "tub" bathing (finally), all my other restrictions are still in place though.

Feeling good today and today is one of those "normal life" days. 3 doctors appointments, a birthday party, trip to the mall, and even went to my classroom for an hour. I have my 15 year old daughter with me and made her drag furniture around while I sat and watched--so weird to do that! Next week we have a girls trip to Disneyland with a 3,6,15, and 18 year old. Super excited because the two little ones have never been before. I need to build up some stamina this week so I can keep up with them! Hope everyone is having a great week!

Thank you for your post. I went back to work after two weeks and got a UTI so I was out 2 of the 4 days I planned to work! I am back at it again but I'm having more spotting and "swelly belly" so I'm not really sure what this means. The nurse at my OB/GYN said the spotting can be due to many things but didn't seem too concerned. It's just been a tough recovery especially when I had myself psyched up for a speedy recovery.

Laffatme72, you are a brave lady talking about going to Disneyland next week! So are you a Southern California gal?

hi camero,
just wanted to stop by and check on how your doing. ima little nervous today just got a call from ob and they informed me that they have scheduled my forst appointment with my ob oncologist I wish i knew what this appointment consisted of. they told me to bring a copy of my cat scan and that they had already forwarded my pathology report over to the other dotor. i seem to keep thinking what my regular ob told that although their was cancer there that it was stage 1 cat 1 and he believed that the hysterectomy was 99% cured the cancer i sure hope thats true. he said the only reason he was sending me to st; louis was to get an ob oncologist to confirm his diagnosis, Im still a little freaked out though. well here i go venting again i sure hope your feeling better we are 3 weeks today I know i am starting to feel much better but still sleeping way more than i want to. God bless let me know how your doing.

Thank you for asking!! I've been praying for you so I hope the St. Louis OB Oncologist will give you good news. Most of the time the cure is worse than the problem. I'm glad you have a great doctor that feels confident enough to insist on the second opinion.
I'm healing sllloooowwwllllyyyy. I went back to work this week 1/2 days. The hubs works on the same base so I car pooled with him. I couldn't see myself driving this early as sometimes I get out of breath and light headed from not drinking enough water or over doing it. I'm spotting everyday but never more than one liner can handle. Some days its pinkish brown, some days dark red. I think the dark red days are the ones I over did it. I passed a stitch today and three of the five scabs have come off in the shower. Still have light pains all the time and I take two 800 motrins every day. I still have some discomfort when I go #1. But my Dr said I do not have an UTI and she suggested I use AZO for the discomfort. It worked for me. She said it was probably from the cathater from the surgery. But that was three weeks ago......... Hummmmm.
Hope this helps.
Take care and I'll continue to pray for you!

No pain for me when I passed a stitch, but I had some light blood.

Three weeks post op. I am feeling great. I can't do too much physical. I thought I was okay to vacuum my small living room. Oops. That hurt. I won't try that again for a while. I love how every one has pillow friends. I am always supporting myself with pillows. Thank you to all the hystersisters. This has been a valuable support for me.

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Jul 02-Jul 08,2012

3 weeks tomorrow and I am feeling a lot better. Worked part time this week and will resume full work schedule God willing on Monday. Energy level has gone up. Ocasional back pains and stabbing around the incisions. Drove today for the first time and felt normal again . This last wek was tough so I will be cautious and listen to my body. This site has been my angel for sure. Does everyone passes stitches? Don't remember doctor saying anything about that. XOXOXO
