Oh Alwyen, sorry to hear you're having more problems. I hope you wake up in the morning feeling much better.

I'm surviving full time work, and some days I have a bit of energy and some nights like tonight not.

Freaked out last night when I saw a 1/3" of string (yes string) hanging out of the side of the incision above my belly button. The incision looks normal besides that. After much research on this site and others, I read that this happens sometimes; and it supposedly isn't a big deal if the area doesn't look infected. Looks freaky, and I don't like it. Anyone else have that happen or just me?

Happy Healing everyone!

I noticed since surgery that I am even more emotional! I cry at a drop of a hat! I have depression and I have medicine for that but it shouldn't change since surgery, but I cry at everything. I still have my ovaries. It just weird to me. Is this normal?

This is an odd one.. I'm at week 3 1/2 and feeling better everyday. I have some itching at the opening to my vagina. Anyone else have this? I had a UTI rallied and took antibiotics so all is ok with that.

Could be vaginal thrush due to having been on antibiotics

I am 3 weeks and 6 days post op. I am very pleased with my recovery process. This site really prepared me for my surgery and recovery. I know I am not 100% but reading and taking tips from the other members has helped so much. I do have some light bleeding but my doctor isnt concerned and said I am healing nicely. No pain, just a funny tingle near one of the incisions, the doctor thinks it may be from nerve bruising but isnt concerned. I try not to overdo it and if I have a busy day, I spend the next day resting a little more. I am oh so ready to get active again (bowling, softball, exercising) but know I have to pace myself. I am sending recovery blessings to you all!

My recovery is going well now, but now it is emotional instead of me worried about healing. I cry about the permanence of the situation and there will be no more little ones coming along to have and to hold. I cant believe I am this old now, lol. I am going to scroll down and look to see how the rest of you are doing. Week 5 and i feel almost back to normal, am driving, doing some housework even though i dont want to, and just getting better. Now I have to get better on the inside. xoxo

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Jul 02-Jul 08,2012

Almost week 4 for me. Doing good but have the occasional set backs. Developed a red super itchy rash around my incisions, they said to take benadryl and if anything comes back from the swab needing medicine they'll let me know. Started having a brown discharge and severe smell (think road kill) after doctor did my internal exam at almost week three, so they put me on antibiotics and said I've got an infection. Then, crying easily, extreme mood swings, breasts leaking, hot flashes and soaking the bed from night sweats. They took blood and said they'll get back with me on hormone testing from it to let me know if they have to put me on hormones for a while. Regardless of everything, I feel pretty good!

I am having the same issue, I kept both of my ovaries but the pain I was having before the surgery is now back. I am worried he should have taken my ovaries, I am only 34 and he was very hesitant to do it and wanted to try just my uterus and cervix first. Now I am starting to regret it. I should be on my period starting today and the cramps in my back and low sides in the front are awful, making my legs tingle. Is this normal? I have no clue.... I feel for you maybe this too shall pass?

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Jul 02-Jul 08,2012

Well today I am 4 weeks and 1 day out. Working full time but still very exhausted at the end of the day each day. Hubby has been great letting me take it easy in the evenings. Still restricted from doing too much I am on "light duty" haha we all know how hard that is though as a mommy and wife and working full time!

I have been having awful headaches for the last 3 days though and pain meds just arent helping. I would have started my period today. A couple of days ago the bad pains I had before surgery started again. Dr had me keep my ovaries since I am only 34 but now I am starting to wonder if that was the right move. Is pain in the ovaries normal at this point? Will it get better? ahhhhh I wish I knew!

Hope all you ladies are doing well! So thankful for each of you!
