Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Jul 02-Jul 08,2012

hello ladies i hope everyone is recovering well. yesterday i noticed for some odd reason i hadnt noticed before, that i have no pain what so ever in my lower stomach or the aches and pulling anymore inside when i stand up from sitting for awhile or when i first get out of bed in the morning. i do have one weird thing going on though. since i have been zipping around here much faster (more like a normal pace) other than a post surg. careful slow pace i have noticed no pain but when i sit down and rest my lower back and lower back muscles go into some kind of painful dance like a muscle spasm type thing. not sure whats that all about. dont see the doc til the 16th and dont want to run up another bill if its nothing.

Me too except for the walking part less pain when I'm transferring or shuffling about out of my chair I even managed the stairs twice today and got up on my sticks without pain though I wasn't on them for long as my legs can't take it any more hospital told me years ago to stop using them but I still manage indoors on them as it can make some household tasks easier I'm now only taking paracetamol if and when I'm uncomfortable and at night before bed the last three nights inc tonight only before bed because of my Spina biffida pains I don't want to jinx myself so ill wait to make the final decision but it's looking good for my trial weekend at home

4 and half weeks now and feel surprisingly well. Have not needed any pain killers since i came home. Sleeping ok on my tummy though i do feel a little pressure when i first get into position and my insomnia is lessening, i managed a full four hours the last three nights, woo hoo.Had a weekend away at a girlfriends in Athens she drove us around the coast, had nice lunches by the sea, champagne cocktail in a nice bar, a trip to temple of poseidon though i didnt attempt to climb to the summit, walking at least an hour a day,and not napping, feel better when i do something rather than sitting about giving myself backache and a sweaty rear . Started reading again and enjoying a nice novel or two. Managing to shave my legs, another milestone, still cant wear things that chafe on my stomach so wardrobe a bit limited, cant wait to wear my skinny jeans, sexy underwear and a slinky dress that doesnt draw attention to my sligghtly swollen belly, scar doesnt seem to have altered much in the last two weeks but healed, not itchy and no bleeding or discharge, just a very red line which i wonder when it will fade.bladder not feeeling so full now,and only peeing a few times a day,not like my early days when it was every hour.bowels regular as clockwork but a bit hard, not in pain, eating lots of healthy stuff but only in half portions to what i used to, feel full very quickly and dont push my self as i dont to feel more swollen than i am,weight back to normal,no more dizziness and no mood swings so hoping i will not need hrt, looking forward to an ever improving recovery and hope likewise for all u ladies out there, hugs xxx,

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Jul 02-Jul 08,2012

Well - Im at week 5 today and feeling good. Been back at work for three weeks now too. (actually - was working from home by day two).
I still get a little winded when I try to do too much and my incisions are a little sore still. I also have noticed my abdomen is still a little tender.
Sometimes I get shooting pains too. Not sure what that's about though.
Another thing I'm dealing with is extremely painful/full breasts. Anyone know what that's about!? I had a (TLH)- still have both my ovaries, but my uterus and cervix were removed.
Oh - and I still don't fit in any of my clothes :/ is the weight gain normal???
Other than that - I'm feeling pretty good. Sleeping great too.

I'm impressed autoimmuneallie - you've been back to work for 3 weeks already!! I just had my first Dr's appiontment post-op today. He said I was exactly where he expected me to be at this point (5 weeks) but I was still swollen, my stiches have not dissolved any and the bladder pain I've been feeling is normal but an indication that I'm not completely healed inside. He said I'm still out of work for now and I go back in 2 weeks for a check up.

A little upset about the no work - I was looking forward to getting back. Hubby is a little upset about the no sex for 2 more weeks! Ugh!! Thought for sure I was gonna get the all clear

Dr laughed and said every woman thinks she's gonna be the one to heal faster. Guess I can't make my body heal faster than it's going.
