My Story....LAVH

I will begin my story by saying i spent hours upon hours reading Hystersister stories...amazing how so many had same worries and problems that I have, i took great comfort in knowing i was not alone, although no story is the same so that is why i told myself i would share mine here.
Im 40yrs old, married to my high school sweet heart for 22yrs, we have 2 children a daughter 22 and our son 17. After our son was born when i was 23 we decided that was the perfect family so i got a tubaligation....that is when my issues began...although i never was irregular with my periods they were horrible..cramping, heavy clotting (size of golf balls) and last for 10 days. Every year at my paps i would mention this to my LPN she would be sympathetic and suggest ibprophen, warm compresses, also birth control which i was firmly against (thats y i got my tubes tied). About a month ago i had hit my wits end, my period was inturupting my life, my son races his motorcycle in a nation wide series and for me to miss his races was heart wrenching but to travel hours in a vehicle with my period was murder to all involved..i began to stay behind on the dates that ran into my cycle. i went for my annual pap and explained to my LPN that enough was enough, i was refered to a gyn and the process began the yucky endo biopsy(neg) my pap (normal) had a intervaginal ultrasound which finally to my relief showed some abnormalities polyups and fibroids...choices were given to me Lysteda, Ablasion, Hysterectomy, i chose to try Lysteda so we headed to Tennessee for a race 12 hrs from home Lysteda in hand just knowing this was finally the answer for me..WRONG it did not work one bit i even think it was worse prob cuz i was so sure it would work...the next week I scheduled a LAVH..week and a half later i was in the hospital nervous but more excited to have this over with forever..went into surgery at 11am was back in room by 315pm..and im not goin to lie i was completely miserable nothing i expected, lots of cramping and gas pain, and nausea was horrible...fought with all this for 12hours pain med nausea med wonderful nurses and finally i began to feel alive again..Dr said surgury went well a few hiccups my tube on left side was filled with fluid that he had not expected my uterus was larger then he had thought and they had to reposition me on table cuz one of the instruments would not work in the position i was in..i was on my way home 26hours after procedure. Home has been a slight challange i have a very busy family so to get help is not impossible but close..they care and love me but im the backbone so to see me down and out is a shock to their systems, i get a bottle of water slapped down as they run by and a arm lent to stand up if they happen to see me struggle..its been 4days and im doing well but slow ive been out to store with hubby and to get a sandwich with the daughter but spend most of time on couch..everyday gets better... hope this helps someone out there..i know im not the only one that has a life like this
