emotional/irrational

My surgery date was July 13 2012. I started feeling emotional/irrational about three days ago . I am emotional and not thinking clearly. I was making a poor decision that I would not normally make and as i was driving I realized that this is not rational. I feel like my head is not clear. I had a hysterectomy and my ovaries were left in. Is anybody else experiencing this?

Re: emotional/irrational

YES YES YES!!! I'm 4 weeks today and I haven't driven yet because of it. I was sad today because it was hot out and I didn't want to leave the AC. Then I was sad because I'm stuck in the house. Then I thought about leaving my husband because I'm not important to anyone. This is the same man who has waited on me hand and foot. Did all the housework, laundry, cooking, shopping, and helped me shower the first week. We have been together 20 years and have a great marriage so this is very irrational thinking. I kept my ovaries to, but was told they may go into shock after surgery and take a few weeks to "wake up." Its been 4 already and still I feel this way. I have my follow up in 2 weeks and if I'm still feeling this way, my dr is going to do blood work to check hormone levels. Sorry I don't really have any advice for you, but I wanted to let you know YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!

Re: emotional/irrational

WOW! Sorry you ladies are having to deal with this! I've not been irrational or super emotional - my ovaries are gone so I've been on HRT since day 2. I'm 3 weeks out today.
I pray for you ladies to have peace of mind and body. You will come out of this - knowing that it's not YOU, but a dirty little trick your bodies are playing on you should help you set your mind at ease!

Re: emotional/irrational

This happened to me the first night home from the hospital. It turned out I was having a bad reaction to the Norco I was given for pain. I ended up in the ER the same night, because the pain was so severe, because I was sobbing, and short of breath.
I wonder if you might be reacting to your pain meds?
