I have searched the forums and have found nothing pertaining to weight loss after surgery.
I have lost a significant amount of weight (90 pounds from 115) since my hysterectomy and found it impossible to getting it back on.
I had my surgery 2 years ago.
I have tried every possible thing to try and get it back on from piggin out to weight gainers.
I will start to gain and if I will miss a day or two, just those few missed days and I am back down. I have also had a extreme amount of muscle loss.
I should point out that I do have crohns desease but have gone into remission since my hysterectomy (yah!)
I am incredibly embarrassed and tired of looking like this I want my great rear end back!
Any and all suggestions are welcome.
Thank you so very much for the replying..appreciated.
My thyroid was the very first thing my doctor checked. It came out negative.
Has anyone heard of weight loss from a hysterectomy? I only read about weight gain.
What kind of doctor do I need to see?
I know everyone will point out the crohns desease and colostomy but I did not lose weight UNTIL the hysterectomy, my g.i. States I am in remission.
I started menopause a few months after my hysterectomy, although I kept my overies.
Menopause could be associated from the hysterectomy or my genetics (my mom started at 37 also)
I did see somewhere that severe weight loss/atrophy can occur from menopause.
Could anyone elaborate on this subject?
