lifting restrictions for TVH

Does anybody know if there is any lifting restrictions when you have a TVH? Im sure the dr. will give me all of this info. closer to my date (2/8/02), but I was just curious.

Also, will they catheterize me?? The did when I had a partial, but that was abdominal. Didn't know if that made a difference.

Hi Tammie!

I had a LAVH on 1/7. I was told not to lift anything over 2 pounds. I also had a cath....it was removed after the first day. I was so happy about that! I hope this has helped you some. Have a great day!

Hi Tammie! I had a TVH and my doctor told me not to lift over 5 lbs. I did have a catheter that they put in in the operating room and they took mine out shortly after they took me to my room after the surgery. Every doctor does things differently so, as you said, you will need to ask your doctor.
