Question - 6 months post-op, regressing?? 6 months post-op, regressing??

So, now I'm experiencing, for lack of a better description, a regression of my urinary symptoms. I thought everything was getting better, except for the recurrent bladder infections. However, I've realized that is not the case. I have gone back to having a weak stream, having to be positioned just right for my bladder to empty with any degree of effectiveness, having to literally CONCENTRATE in order to get my bladder to "let go", I have a "three wave" approach to urination (I have the main "release", then wait a little and I'll probably go more, and if I wait some more, I might get a third go!), any kind of bearing down (pushing down to "hurry up", talking, or laughing) will cut of the flow of urine like a clamp was applied, today I had bladder infection type pain (yet I'm on low dose Trimethoprim for 3 months), and I also started having the same pain that got the WHOLE ball rolling, 7 months ago. My "second opinion" appointment is next week, so I'm making a list of things, but does anyone have any ideas between now and then?? These were all issues I was having shortly after surgery, that seemed to "clear up" as time went on. Now, they're back???

Re: 6 months post-op, regressing??

Has your doctor mentioned using estrogen cream vaginally? I know you kept your ovaries but you could be having some problems with low E in the vaginal tissues. I have also found (though you cannot use it daily for long periods) that when I have bladder pain and trouble urinating that I can take Azo Standard for a couple of days to get the flow going again. Please let us know how your appointment goes!

Re: 6 months post-op, regressing??

Molly, my doctor hasn't mentioned ANYTHING! According to her, all my urinary issues (save for the bladder infections) aren't really issues at all. According to her, the reason my stream cuts off and I have to sit in a certain position to void are because "everything is in the right place now". I'm sorry, but that just sounds like crap to me. I'll definitely let you know what the new doctor says!

I am not surprised, I think most gyns don't understand hormones. If you look up low estrogen symptoms frequent UTI's, bladder pain without infection, pelvic pain etc are on the list. I am learning more and more about why I had all the UTI's and trouble emptying my bladder.
