5.5 months post-op, cystitis ugh

I am 5.5 months post-op. This week I've had a persistent cramping feeling in the pelvic area. I kept hoping it would go away, and that maybe it was just from eating too many cherries lol. Anyway, this morning it was pretty uncomfortable, it was painful just walking around so I got in to see my doctor and they took a urine sample which showed some (microscopic) blood and white blood cells - Cystitis. I almost jumped off the table when my doctor pressed on my bladder area, it was so painful. I've had UTIs before but with urinary symptoms (urgency, frequency, burning). This time I just have this bladder pain. I am on antibiotics for 7 days, twice a day.

I've seen online that women tend to get more bladder infections after hysterectomy and the loss of estrogen. Just wondering if others on here have experienced cystitis like I am describing. I am really hoping the pain gets better soon.

I also read that if you have cystitis you should avoid, among other things, coffee, tomatoes, and artificial sweeteners, all things I eat/drink quite a bit of everyday.
