Still at the castle bp was low yesterday surgery went well but dr found cysts on kidney I think and wants another dr to look at those might have to get them taken off while I am still up near the hospital. Little nervous about that. Sore today. Took forever to urinate last night and still no bm since Sunday. Overall I think things are going well
Really looking forward to a shower.

Welcome ladies, glad to see you made it to the other side safely!!

CCT - So happy to hear your initial diagnosis of no cancer on the outside. Hoping and praying you get a clean bill of health on the inside as well!

Keep up on your pain medications to stay ahead of your pain. A lot of you may still be groggy from the anesthetics so it may be a good idea to keep a journal to record your medications and times taken when you go home from the castle.

Rest and drink plenty of water. The water as well as ice chips helped with my throat discomfort. Hopefully most of you will be leaving the castle soon and will be home in your own comfy surroundings

Remember to pamper the !!

Am improving today (Wednesday) with catheter and pain buster tubes out and off IV this morning. I had 2 1/2 hour abdominal op while they tried to get rid of all endometriosis. Right side was easy but left side was totally stuck together with adhesions and endo to bowel and abdominal wall and ovary tubes and uterus which was also covered in endo. Too dizzy to stand yesterday and vomited at lunchtime which was painful. They had left an anti glue solution inside to try and prevent new adhesions which was why I had a drain for 24 hours. Today I have walked, peed and showered so feeling much better. They want to measure 3 pees and also bladder ultrasound after each one to make sure all working ok. Hope to get out of hospital Thursday. Glad improving, hope you all are too

Physio got me walking up and down stairs and round the halls. Not too bad. I still have to take a moment marching on the spot to overcome dizziness when I first get up. Some puffiness in hands and legs but to keep support socks on for 2 weeks. Improving every hour. Should be good to go home Thurs morning.

Happy princess day to you!
I had my TAH on Tuesday July 17 th..., I have had c-section and several other abdominal surgeries in the past so felt fairly prepaired with what to expect post op.... However after 4 hours in the operating theater when I woke up in recovery I must admit was the most staggering unbearable pain! They gave me HUGE doses of pain Meds but didn't even touch the pain..... I have many allergies so my pain control option were very limited... So far things seem to be settling down abit and I'm finding the gravol work for nausea and pain as it makes me groggy . I never expected pain Meds to totally eliminate the pain but at times it is almost unbearable.....can anyone tell me if your fist 12-24 hours were worse? I'm hoping that it's more the whole shock and what not... And that tommorow things will be more tolerable?!

Ps if you don't have an electric heat pad GET ONE. Plug it into you wall on hospital bed and put over incision or under back..... Makes everything much less painful.
