Pointers on a saggy baggy belly

In Feb 2011, I had an vertical incision abdominal partial hysterectomy due to fibroid tumors / ovarian cysts. This sight got my thru the entire process, of which I am more than grateful. My question is, "Is it normal to not be able to lose and tone that belly apron?": I have lost 40lbs since my surgery, it's been over a year and no matter what I do I can't tone the tummy. If this is the way it's to be, I'll just live with it, I'm not a bikini wearer anyways.

Re: Pointers on a saggy baggy belly

I did not have an incision with my hyster, but I have read that some of the other sisters have had the same issue. I know my mom has what we have dubbed a front butt(she had emergency colon surgery). The dr told her she may never be able to tone that 100% because of the way the cut was(same as you) and the muscles are not the same. She also has no will power or desire to change it Have you spoken to a personal trainer or to your dr about exercises that may help? Sorry not much help, but I wanted you to know some one read and hopefully another sister with a similar experience will be along to help. BTW CONGRATS on the weight loss!!!

Re: Pointers on a saggy baggy belly

Hi there,

Try jogging or Bellydance to help strengthen your abs. I recommend the Neena and Veena bellydance.
