Wondering if I have other options...

I'm new to the boards, though not new to ovary-related issues.

At 23, I had a very large mass removed from my left ovary. It was ruled Low-Malignant Potential, and decided to remove my left ovary and tube in an additional surgery a few weeks later with an ultimate diagnosis of stage IA ovarian cancer.

At 25, my right ovary started growing a mass and it kept getting larger. They decided to be proactive and remove just the mass, which was benign. I went on to have three kids, with no plans for more.

Now age 31, at a recent appointment, I learned that my right ovary is growing a cyst that is getting larger and has some complexity to it. I go for one more sonogram in 6 weeks, at which time a discussion will be made as to how to proceed. My gynecological oncologist already indicated that if it is getting larger, his recommendation is to remove my uterus and right ovary and tube. In addition to the mass, I have been bleeding 3 out of four weeks of the month resulting in severe anemia, and I have an enlarged uterus but no sign of fibroids. I do have the Paraguard IUD, and have also been on birth control pills to try and control the bleeding (which is not working).

I guess I want to know if there are any other options other than hysterectomy so I can go into the doctor's office informed. I am also seeking a second opinion in the weeks leading up to my next sonogram.

I have been reviewing these boards, and I really value the opinions of those on the board. I have a lot to learn, and I'm definitely overwhelmed.
