I have had some burning in my lower stomach, seems to come and go, but other then that, things are going well, still tired though.

Thanks for this site, I have learned a lot !!

It is very common to have mood swings even if you kept one or both ovaries. I know I got to a point with just my one that I couldn't stand myself, lol. It took a few weeks to stabilize out. Hopefully yours won't take too long!

Such torture since I have 4 more weeks to serve of this no intercourse sentence!! Ahhhhhhhhh......
I was not one of the lucky ones that got to experience that, lol. I have read about several women that have though. I did have a few days around week 4 where if I knew it wouldn't have done damage, I would have put my dh to real good use:O)

I have Celiac's, but I've been completely gluten free for years now, so I know I'm not getting gluten inadvertently or anything. I'm wondering if my digestive system responds differently to surgery/anesthesia because of the Celiac's. Also, the only painkiller I had after the surgery was Toreadol (I don't know how to spell it, it's a non narcotic NSAID) and then Advil now & then when I need it.
My best guess is it's from all the NSAID's. Do you still have your gallbladder or are you taking stool softners? I had some cramping beforehand with my last surgery, but once my intestines settled back in place it stopped.

Hi Everybody, It's been 2 weeks & 2 days since my surgery. Feeling so much better. Still klingy to my hubby, I still am somewhat emotional but that is improving, & i'm able to do allot on my own again. I have not drove just yet but ready to get back into the driver seat...LOL! I take care of myself & try not to overdue it but yesterday I did do to much & started to bleed & could feel wiered feelings in my surgical area in my vagina like something moving or freeky twinges...yuck! Other than that I feel really good! Of course no sex has been just down right awful! I am not affraid to admit it either. So Sept 3rd is marked on my calendar...LOL! Time sure is dragging :-/ Any other time the days would be flying by & we all know it. I wish everyone here a speedy recovery & I'm sending healing hugs & positive thoughts out to all our sisters. <3 :-)

I still have my gallbladder. I haven't really taken that much, though. I had Toreadol, 4 doses total, in hospital, then Advil maybe 2-3 times a day for 2-3 days, now it's only once a day, if that. I haven't had any for 2 days.

I love reading your posts, glad so many are doing so well. I am grateful to be alive (if you read any of previous posts, I was IRRATIONALLY afraid of not waking up post op. So, I am glad for that mental relief, now on to recovery.
I had the same fear, but we got through it, now on to healing, my surgery was on the 23 of July hysterectomy with robotic assisted, Davinci. Had 2 wk post op on mon and all is well....really beginning to feel like myself in the past 2 days, belly is finally going down, anxious to get into my clothes, I begin RN school next mon so I would like to NOT look pregnant....but I am just grateful to have awoken from anesthesia and be well....good luck to you and don't be mad at your husband.....they will always try to see if you are up to it....

New here, 16 days post op LAVH

I have been secretly visiting this site since before my surgery. I have not had the courage to post until now. I guess I was afraid that if I posted my story, the fact that I had a hysterectomy would become real. Not sure if anyone will understand that?? Anyway I am 34 and had my hysterectomy because of pain and bleeding. I have two wonderful children 10 and 8. I was unable to get pregnant again and my heart just brakes because of this. After 6 years of trying and every month being disappointed, I had enough. I mentally could not take it anymore.
My surgery went well, only spent 1 night in the hospital. My recovery has been a rollercoaster, I have good days and bad. I was able to keep both ovaries, but have had some mood swings and night sweats. The worst for me has been the gas pains. They make me want to cry. Everytime I eat I am in pain trying to digest it. I have little appetite, so I don't eat much.'
Thank you all for sharing your stories. They have really helped me get through something that I never wanted to have.
