2 weeks post ovarian cyst removal lots of pain

Hi,

This is my 1st post. I've been reading the site for a while and have found it to be a very good source of information

In October 2011 I started having pain in my left side and feeling sick. A ultra scan confirmed I had 2 chocolate cysts on my left ovary 3cm and 5 cm and 1 on my right of 3 cm. I was put on watchful waiting.

The pain got worse moving to my groin and left leg and heal. I went back to the hospital and was put on the waiting list for cyst removal.

On the 10th may 2012 I had my 1st operation. I had laparoscopic surgery however the endometriosis was so bad I was closed up again and another date for longer surgery booked.

On the 12th July I under went another laparoscopic surgery that lasted 4 hours. My left ovary had attached its self to my bowel. I had all 3 cysts removed and a large about of Adhesions.

I'm now 2 weeks post op and I am worries as the pain is back that I had before the operation. Am I healing and worrying about nothing? What have you guys experienced? I'm so worried

Don't panic! Sometimes the healing pain does feel a lot like the original pain. Give yourself some more time to heal before you decide the pain is still endometriosis.

That said, it is easy for surgeons who are not endometriosis specialists to miss endometriosis implants. Thus, it is possible you do still have endometriosis that could be causing issues. But at this point, don't borrow trouble and assume that is the case. For one, the more meticulous the surgeon, the more pain you can feel during recovery. It was weeks after my last laparoscopy before I was mostly pain free and felt the surgery was a success. Thankfully, my surgeon's office had warned me there could be a lot of pain or I would have been very discouraged and depressed that the surgery had failed.

You can definitely touch base with your doctor about what you are going through to be sure all is well. S/he may have some advice as well.

in there!
