5 1/2 Weeks Post Op Concerns

I had a full hysterectomy with TOT, rectocele and cystecele repairs. I have been doing great, and I have probably done more than I should have this week. Thursday, I began to feel like something is in my vagina. Yesterday, when I took a shower, I felt a hard lump in the opening of my vagina, in the rear, where I used to feel the rectocele. Does that sound like normal healing process? Or could it be swelling from overdoing? Or does is sound like I have done something that doctor needs to check out? Really mad at myself, and very down, thinking I might have messed up repairs.

I felt that yesterday and I am a month post op. I thought it was the vaginal cuff been taking it very easy today. It happened when I was trying to go poop. Today I dont feel it so maybe it was from straining? Going to the doctor on Wednesday. Hope you are okay.

Most likely it is swelling from overdoing it but please give your doctor a call in case he/she wants to see you. I felt much the same way as you early in my post op weeks.

Re: 5 1/2 Weeks Post Op Concerns

Thanks SMW and Molly. I also wondered if it could be the vaginal cuff, but it's so low that I don't think it could be unless the cuff is falling down. And I don't even want to contemplate that thought. I will call my doctor Monday, but I am trying really hard to ease my mind that this is okay. I am really afraid to do anything that might put a strain on my muscles, and I guess that is not a bad idea.
