I can't believe how well I am doing!! I haven't had any pain, just some tenderness around the incision sites. I was only able to walk once on the first day due to nausea and dizziness from the anesthesia. I've been sleeping alot today, as my body tells me. I'm thrilled that thing have gone so smoothly!!

It was so much more than just having them not respond. They didn't read the doctors directions to remove my IV if and when I could keep down liquids. If they'd done that, I wouldn't have been up all night shutting off alarms, or had to move so much to get to said alarms! They also kept leaving the door open every time they did come to my room, so I'd have to get up and shut it after them. At a certain point I asked for some broth because the morphine was making me sick, it took them 45 minutes to bring me some luke warm vegetable soup. I was so drugged when the nurse manager was there to talk to me about it, I plan on writing a follow up letter to explain in detail what happen (or didn't happen) to me. If they were short staffed or really busy it would be one thing, but my mom said she saw them all standing around the desk texting on their phones and joking around. My furry patients got much better care from me when I was a vet tech!

I had my surgery August 1st. Everything went well and I got home yesterday about 24 hours after surgery. I have minimal pain...haven't taken anything for it in the last 24 hours. My hip pain is gone...amazing. I've been resting, walking and just not doing a whole lot of anything else. Hope everyone had an uneventful surgery!

Good Evening Ladies, So glad to see you are all finding your way here to the thread. One thing you may find which has been said by one of the sisters here is the "weird" dreams...it seems to be a normal thing on my thread it was a common theme for weird dreams, some felt it was the after effects of anesthetic or pain meds or a combination of both.

I echo Nonna4 in her talk about pain meds, it will make a world of difference. Her suggestion to talk to your doctor if it is not working or if they constipate you is a great suggestion work with them to controll your pain meds.

Walking as she said is very important to your recovery even if it is only a few minutes, if done repeatedly it adds up. As Nonna4 said use a pillow to help, also try to walk straight up rather than hunched over it may hurt at first but it will be so much better.

I just had supper at the table with my family.
I walked down the driveway and to the end of the street (we live on a corner so it wasn't too far).
I also had a small BM!
My surgery was Aug 1. I'm doing well Much better than I expected.

I definitely did too much this afternoon. I was feeling better so I took a walk and then a shower. By the time I got back in bed I was in pain again. And I'm so tired now I feel like I could sleep forever. Lesson most certainly learned, I'll be staying in bed all day tomorrow for sure.

Had divinci surgery yesterday, got to keep both ovaries, which I'm happy about. Got home today and am actually in a lot of pain from gas. Most of it is on my right side and up in my right shoulder. Doc said that is a common thing and it involves the liver being pushed around during surgery and nerve endings. I didn't get the whole story. But the pain killers don't even help it. He said it will be a day or two until it's gone.

I've been trying to walk a little around the house. I can literally feel the gas bubbles shifting around when I do. No trouble peeing, but most of the gas so far has come out in burps. I did take some gas-x earlier and just took some stool softener. Hoping I can avoid constipation as I would guess that would be very painful. As long as I sit in one position and don't breathe too deep, I'm relatively pain free. Also drinking lots of water so I'm sure to be up several times tonight!

I have faith it will get better each day.
