Good luck with your surgery!
I am done having kids, my husband actually just had a vasectomy a little over 2 months ago. Not even 2 weeks after his appt i I started having my prolapse symptoms. My first born, my son, was 9 lbs, 16 hours of labor, and when the time came i had him out in 2 pushes. I dont think things ever went back to normal after i had him. I didnt tear down towars my bottom but i tore alot internally and had to have extensive stiching! i think my sudden onset of symptoms is due to my uterus and cervix dropping down more.

Wow, similar stories. My second son where the prolapse occurred was 8 lbs 14 ozs and I was definitely not built to carry that size baby. Hubby got his vasectomy when baby was 2 months old, and I was in the hospital that weekend and for a full week following with emergency gall bladder surgery that started during pregnancy. Both kids almost killed me and of course it was and still is worth it all. Hubby said a third would have done me in.

Re: What can i excpect for my first gyn visit for suspected prolapse?

I am 2 weeks post A & P repair. I had a severely prolapsed uterus 10 years ago which led to my hysterectomy. About 3-4 weeks ago I as diagnosed with a 3rd degree cystocele and rectocele and had surgery 2 weeks ago.
When I went in for my appointment the gynocologist performed a regular exam and determine from that that I was 3rd degree and was ready for surgery 1 week later. I have a well trusted doctor and surgery went well. I am feeling good.
If you don't have to have surgery right away check out your options, and do get a second opinion if you have any fears or concerns.
