Dvh abdominal binder

I will be having a Dvh on 8/28 how many of you ladies used the binder? I'm thinking I want one just want to make surer it won't be a waste of money. I heard it helps to make everything go back flatter! Is that true ?

I didn't use one. I found that having fitting yet not binding clothing on was super comfortable. It kept my tummy from jiggling around a lot yet I didn't feel squished.

Re: Dvh abdominal binder

Hi Nicole,
I had a abdominal hysterectomy August 9, 2010. They gave me a binder in the hospital and it helped immensely. I also continued to wear it at home, and at times later on in my recovery. I do not know if it makes your belly flatter, but it does give you support that at times makes it more comfortable for your Belly. Best of luck to you in your upcoming surgery!

Re: Dvh abdominal binder

I bought one from this site, but haven't used it yet. I have been wearing very loose clothing and getting by clutching a towel or a pillow to my stomach. I'm thinking that in another couple weeks, when I'm venturing out in the world, I may want to have it. A grown woman clutching a penguin pillow to her stomach gets some strange looks, even here in Seattle.

It wouldn't hurt to order it and decide after your surgery whether you'll use it. They deliver it very fast, and you can always return it as long it hasn't been more than a month and you don't take it out of the plastic.
