Strong nerve pain in my legs

When I was recently told I had a prolapsed uterus (in addition to a prolapsed bladder I've had for 20 years) I suddenly realized these two organs must be pressing on the nerves in my legs making it increasingly painful and difficult to walk. I can't find this mentioned anywhere in or out of this site. Can someone direct me to where I can read about this. I'm hoping these prolapses are causing this pain so that once I get them repaired they will get the &%$#! off my nerves and I can walk like everyone else!!

Re: Strong nerve pain in my legs

I have this same problem! I had it a couple of years ago when I had a cystocele, rectocele, and uterine prolapse and it was completely fixed by my repair surgery.

Unfortunately, I had some complications following surgery that led to bleeding and infection and I just had to have the surgery redone on the 31st of July. Prior to this surgery I was back in the same boat. Pain the legs, trouble walking, feeling like my legs just didn't work right at times. I am two weeks out now and am still having some pain but it seems like it might be getting better. I am taking ultram which seems to help with the nerve pain. I took cymbalta and lyrica last time before and after the surgery and they helped even more but were a pain to taper off of. I hope this helps and I wish you luck! I really do think that your surgery will help and that if I had not had issues with mine, I would still be healed.

Re: Strong nerve pain in my legs

You sound so much like me. I love to walk for exercise but I cannot do that now because of cystocele/rectocele/prolapsed uterus. Like you I am hoping that these prolapses are what is causing the pain and that when I get them corrected my pain will subside and I can get back into exercising. I cannot walk because of extreme pain in my lower back, hips and legs and I cannot always find this particular problem addressed.

Re: Strong nerve pain in my legs

I can tell you my lower back pain went away post op. Hopefully that will be the case for you as well.

Re: Strong nerve pain in my legs

I LOVE YOU ALL!! Thank you so much for giving me hope that I can function like the young fifty-something that I am (I meant to say twenty-something that I am). I can just barely walk the steps, just barely walk a block and I have to take Gabapentin so I don't wind up moaning in my sleep from pain. Has anyone tried homeopathy for stage 2 uterine prolapse? For bladder prolapse?

Re: Strong nerve pain in my legs

I'm so glad to hear the nerve pain could be related! I am scheduled for POP surgery in 2 weeks and I'm very nervous but anxious to have my life back. Hopefully without leg pain!

Re: Strong nerve pain in my legs

I am not sure what homeopathy entails but untried pelvic floor PT for nearly a year with some success but not enough to correct the problem.

What does your leg pain feel like? What's POP surgery?
