LAVH- wow! That was it?!?

I have had issues with my periods for a very long time. Even though they were as regular as could be, after taking Depo Provera, I ended up bleeding for a year almost constantly. Later, I had flooding on a regular basis which really began to take over my life. I had an ablation in 2008 and didn't have any bleeding whatsoever for about a year. However the cramps I would get would be absolutely debilitating. Furthermore, the cramps would come closer and closer together and they were like labor pains. They occurred after exercise and sometimes sex as well. After transvaginal ultrasounds and two doctors agreeing it was suspected adenomyosis, I was scheduled for LAVH. I debated all summer if I really wanted to go through with this at 41. My surgery was Aug 6 (not date posted above) so this is my third day post op. Let me tell you---the hysterectomy was NOTHING compared to the cramps I was having before. NOTHING! I have only taken Advil and did not even use the Morphine (which I was actually kind of excited to have as some happy juice-haha). My pain was never more than a 1 on a scale from 1-10!! I did stay overnight in the hospital and the only concern was my blood pressure was low (80/40) and my pulse was low (38) so that kept setting off the alarm on the machine. But I didn't even feel faint getting up or anything. I am beyond shocked that I feel this great. The only thing I would say is I feel exhausted easily but there is no pain. A little tenderness if I am shifting positions but that is about it. Oh! And I did learn something today. I had on the anti nausea patch and was pressing on it to make sure it was on when my dr walked in. He said to make sure I washed my hands before touching eyes or it will make the eyeball/pupil swell up and dilate and yoi will have blurry vision for quite awhile. . Well unfortunately that advice was not in time to save me. I had forgotten the same thing happened to me on a cruise and my vision was distorted. I had definitely already touched or rubbed my eye because I couldnt see yet again. Normally I have 20/20 vision but could not read my phone at all I ripped that patch off and gradually my vision is getting better. They need more warnings about that! All in all, excellent doctor and nurses. I might be a little bloated but havent had the big gas pains I was expecting so not sure if it's just too early or if I'm just lucky. I have no vaginal pain whatsoever and my incisions look great. So glad to have found Hyster Sisters so that I knew what to expect!
