16 yrs. post op/fibromyalgia and possible menopause

I am feeling so achy and slow the last week. I understand the fibro part, been living with it for 11 years. The part that makes me think I am possible running into menopause is the crazy hot flashes that occur whenever it is most inconvenient! I am assuming I am going through menopause but I'm not sure since I haven't had a good idea of my cycle almost since my hysterectomy. Guess I need to go back and have a blood test. Has anyone else had this kind of change?

Thanks,
Monica

Sounds like symptoms of menopause with the hot flashes. You may have this until your ovaries finally give up. If it gets hard to deal with then see your doctor and see what he suggests.

Re: 16 yrs. post op/fibromyalgia and possible menopause

I've had this issue too for the past few years. My Dr has done thyroid tests to make sure everything was alright and dismissed me. During the past two summers is when I have been hit the hardest. Flushing down my neck chest and arms that you can visually see and feel. I get light headed and nauseous too. I have also woken up soaking wet with damp hair in the morning. Not usual for someone whose circulation is on the freezing side and hands and feet are ice blocks.

What is the difference in between perimenopause and regular menopause?

I have had other symptoms, but I am not sure if they fit in with my depression or with this. It is hard to catalogue new symptoms when you have major issues elsewhere.
