Re: Premarin

Is this in place of the Vivelle Dot you stated you were using in your other thread?

Re: Premarin

The vivelle dot isn't working well for me, he wants to switch to the premarin. But like i stated, not sure he is the right dr. to make the decisions.

Re: Premarin

I too tried the Vivelle Dot, and it didn't work for me. I was on Premarin .3 to start and then .45 for 6 months, but just recently went off it to go on compounded estradiol cream. Give it a shot and see if it works for you!

Re: Premarin

My TAH/BSO was 6/18/12. My Dr. gave me 1mg Premarin and in 3 days my hot flashes have gone from about 5 every hour to 2-3/day. Night sweats have gone away. I am going through some other troubles as far as the pain meds, but so far the Premarin has been helpful. I have endometriosis and the Estrogen can act as fertilizer for it's growth, so my Dr. is being conservative as far as hormones.

Re: Premarin

.3 is awfully low dose esp at your age I would think a higher dose would have been recommended.

Premarin is like all other hormones...works for some but not for others.

Re: Premarin

I started on Premarin .625 after my hysterectomy this year and my hot flashes stopped, the dryness, and mood issues went away. Each person is different, so give it a try to see if is right for you. You always can have the doctor lower the dosage later. Good Luck!
