testosterone

I had a partial hyst 18 months ago then had one me my ovaries removed six months later. My remaining ovary failed as I had had multiple surgeries on it. I had an implant done privately but still suffer with tiredness low libido etc. My gynae has suggested testosterone patches but the feedback on another forum I use is that the gel is better. My gynae has said this isnt licensed in the uk so not willing to give it me. I really dont know what to do. I have tried to get a nhs referal to a meno clinic that has been recommended but my trust is saying they may not pay. I have paid for all my treatment over the last five years so feel this is unfair. Has anyone on here tried the patches ?

Re: testosterone

Did you have your testosterone and free testosterone levels tested to be sure you are low in T? Did your gynae test your overall hormone levels to be sure they are where they should be after the implant?

That said, the patch isn't available in the US yet, I don't think I have seen alot of posts about it on this forum. You could do a search for Intrinsa and see what comes up. If you are indeed low in Testosterone, I don't think it would hurt to give the patch a try.
