second opinion? no idea what to do!!

Hello, my name is Kiesha. I am 25 and was just diagnosed with Adenomyosis. For a little over a yr I've been in pain. My stomach gets HUGE and I can't even stand sometimes.

I finally went to the doctor and he informed me of the Adenomyosis and tilted/large uterus. He says I need a hysterectomy, but I want more kids. No one that I know has had these problems. Any advice??

Re: second opinion? no idea what to do!!

HUGS I am in the same boat. Except I am done with having kids.

From reading and reading yesterday I hear.. if it is not too bad and they can isolate it some doctors can do surgery to just take out the aden but most doctors won't do that surgery and you may or may not be able to have kids after it. Also they may not get it all and it may come back.

I HEAR some women find relief with hormones.

but I also hear the only real option for relief is hyst.. HUGS..Not a expert but been looking myself.

I would get a second opinion though as I have read that aden is sometimes misdiagnosed as they cannot tell without a lab report. Sometimes it is really fiboids where there is a few more options. (at least that is what google told me) but it also usually ends up with a hyst.

Thanks so much, I made my appointment for a second opinion yesterday. I had a Laprascopy, that's how they diagnosed me. I'll also look into hormones

Re: second opinion? no idea what to do!!

I would find out as much as possible about this so you can ask your doc what the options are. There is some information I found on the site under alternatives that might help. Also I have found that the Mayo Clinic website gives a lot of info on different problems so you might want to check up their information. Hope this helps
