Pain Meds- Dilaudid

HI...has anyone dealt with intolerance to narcotics and used Dilaudid. I promised the doctor if I am nauseous I will barf on her shoes If possible I would go far not to take anything...am a breast cancer survivor for 12 years and never expected to go down this road. No cancer found but a regular community living in there (polyps...cysts, fibroids). Rather than have this looked at every 6 months I elected hyster. GP said take ovaries as they pose the greatest cancer threat in the future. I was menopausal for 13 months until last Feb...then the tests started and money went out the door. Honestly I have no complaints but also no need to hang on to an on going problem...thoughts anyone. Blessings!

Re: Pain Meds- Dilaudid

I was a couple of different narcotics including diladed for a few days in the hospital. I was also on Motrin the same time (back and forth). I got sick on perocet, and they switched me to diladed. When I got home from the hospital three days later, I was then able to shift off to only Motrin.

It is important to be on pain meds to control the pain, as your body heals better. Everyone is different, and some move off the narcotics faster than others.

I had a hard time with it. It was in a pump connected to the IV and I could get a dose every six minutes. It made me sweat quite a bit they had to change my gown a few times. It did how ever it did do wonders for the pain. I only had it the first 24 hours and I missed it when they switched me to percocet SP

I also had a hysto for the same reason cysts and polyps.
