The Scooty Carts in stores are not for LAZY people.

At 6 days post op my hubby took me to Wal Mart to a little shopping,I thoght it be ok I'll just get on a cart and ride. Oh no my sisters ...............all the carts were either taken by the lazy or were not charged by lazy Wal-Mart employees. (Was not busy at all at 930am) My DH complained to a employee and was told " what are we suppose to do" ( I shot off a nasty email to WM once We returned home). One large lady was riding a scooter eating choc. doughnuts. I was so angry with the lazy people and with inconsiderate Wal Mart employees. It took 2 hours for me to walk a bit and then sit . I come home collasped into bed for 3 hour nap. I am sore and hurting today. Please if you don't need the scooty cart don't take just because you are lazy or just dont wanna walk around a big supercenter. My firey email expressed my anger and my desire to go to our local Grocery store instead. It is a week post op today and am still tired yesterday bad experience wore me out. My stitches on my belly are really itchy and my swelly belly is still a issue. Sorry for the long rant, but I knew my sisters would understand....
feel free to rant on this as well. you may feel better. I do

In some respects I agree but to be honest with you 6 days po is a little soon to be out shopping as your body is trying to tell you? You never know why someone is really going through. I'm sure I got some looks riding on a cart because I looked perfectly normal. But, only I knew I had a hysterectomy, so you just never knows. Remember you only get one chance to heal correctly so . Good luck sister

I went out one week post op and went to a store...whoa...too much too soon! Next time I ventured out DH and I went to Supertarget at 2.5 week mark and we did get a wheelchair that he pushed.

I can't believe the looks we got...yes, I look "normal" with no issue to need a wheelchair. But that helped!!!

Since my surgery, I have refused to go to Walmart for the exact reasons you stated above. Trust me sister, it doesn't happen just at your store but all over!!!!' I'm glad you sent an email off to speak your mind!!!

Now...take time and rest and heal!!!!

I have learned my leason and will not be going out to do any shopping of any kind......no matter how much Bath and Body Works may be calling my name, LOL. I paid for that little trip Friday can you say SORE and Grouchy. I will continue to stay home untill my body says it's time not to. I am not sch. to go back to work till Oct 12. I feel 6 weeks isn't really enough. I am blessed to have Short term and be paid but, I feel for a Complete Hyster you should be given the option of another 2 weeks off if needed. I hope I am ready by then, THATS A SCARY THING to think of right now.

Re: The Scooty Carts in stores are not for LAZY people.

I was told that shopping should be the very last thing you add back to your routine. It's far more exhausting than you think and pushing a cart... forgetaboutit.

Good for you for firing off a letter to management. If your local grocery store is clean, well stocked, and has charged scooters I would consider shopping there for awhile. Walmart is exactly known for their customer service and that's one less stress you'll have to worry about.
