OMG! I have a terrible head cold!!!

I woke up this morning with my whole head stopped up. I don't have a fever. It's just so close to my surgery. Do you think there will be a problem??

Re: OMG! I have a terrible head cold!!!

when is your surgery scheduled? Wouldn't that just totally suck to have to push it back because of a head cold. Get lots of fluids, vitamin c and rest. Contact your surgeon asap and see what they say. I hope hope hope you are well enough to go ahead a scheduled.

*hugz you and strokes your poor stopped up head*

Re: OMG! I have a terrible head cold!!!

I had a head cold last week and was able to get rid of it enough to have surgery yesterday. I drank lots of fluids, ate brothy soup and made a tea concoction with green tea, lemon and honey that I drank every night. I did notify my doctor and he prescribed an antibiotic to make sure I did not get a bacterial infection. You have some time, make sure you rest enough too. Good luck!

p.s. I am feeling pretty good today considering.

Re: OMG! I have a terrible head cold!!!

If your surgery is Oct 1(as it says in your info) you should be able to clear the cold enough in 2 1/2 weeks. Just take really good care of yourself and rest more than you normally would with a cold and drink lots of fluids. See your doctor if you think it is anything more than a cold or if you have a fever.

Re: OMG! I have a terrible head cold!!!

My entire family had this and I wanted to make sure I would not get it. I have been taking Zinc and Vitamin D and I really upped my fluid intake. I was told that these were both okay by my doctor. Also I was informed to stop Vitamin C a week before surgery but felt that I did not want to take anything that might thin my blood. They have worked wonders. I have had a bit of a runny nose but that is my allergies, as they kick up this time of year.
I hope you can kick the cold quickly. At least you still have a couple of weeks. Also it would not hurt to see your doctor just in case.

Re: OMG! I have a terrible head cold!!!

I remember hearing a natural cure- may have been for soar throats/coughs- I forget for now but completely natural so worth a try under the circumstances. Peel an onion add some sugar, leave overnight and drink the juices tat run off in the morning

Re: OMG! I have a terrible head cold!!!

Thanks ladies. I couldn't sleep last night cuz I'm so stopped up. I am going to get me some Vitamin C drops and some OJ today. I'm gonna call the doctor in the morning to see about an antibiotic.
