I too would like to know if anyone has experience with this. I am two weeks tomorrow and started this on Thursday night. Mine is more than just spotting as well. Wondering when to call the doctor or not. Mine is not bright red but it is not brown either just a dark red color. I feel little gushes every now and then.
If you have fresh red blood and you are filling more than a maxi-pad in an hour - call the doctor immediately. If it's just like the volume of period blood and it doesn't get worse, it's likely the gunk inside as your stitches dissolve and come out. If it doesn't trickle back to the brownish stuff within 24 hours - call the doctor. If you have a fever, nausea, vomiting - call the doctor. If you just feel wiped out - lay down and treat yourself like it was days 3/4 post-op. Listen to your body - rest and give it a chance to clean out/heal. However, I am not a doctor.....just went through the same thing, so if you feel at all concerned, a call to the doctor can't hurt. That's what they are there for. But I understand, you don't want to overreact....
I was at day 16 post davinici hysterectomy and had full clearance day 14 from my doctor to get back to things b/c I was doing SO well and a blood vessel popped while I was sleeping and I began bleeding and couldn't get control of it. I also had a fever and vomiting, so I called the doctor even though it was 3am. I wound up in the hospital for 2 days and required another procedure to cauterize the vessel. So you can't be too careful - bothering your doctor is part of the package - especially if you don't feel well/right.
